Concrete Grinding and Surface Preparation

Preparation is the whole job. A coating is only ever as good as the surface under it, and the most common reason an epoxy floor peels, bubbles or lifts is that the slab was never mechanically prepared in the first place.

We grind concrete back with diamond tooling to remove old coatings, glues, laitance and contamination, and to open up a surface profile the new system can key into. Cracks, holes and pitting are cut out and filled. Control joints are treated properly rather than coated over and left to telegraph through.

We also take on grinding as a standalone job: removing old paint, glue or carpet adhesive, levelling high spots, and getting a slab ready for whatever is going down next, including tiles, vinyl or polishing.

If someone has quoted you an epoxy floor without mentioning grinding, ask them what preparation is included before you sign anything.
